Waffles are a strange product since they are not usually consumed much in Argentina but are made with the same ingredients as pancakes (flour, butter, milk, sugar, etc.). However, at Café Martínez they make the exception, having a waffle but with two different toppings. In this culinary review I am going to comment on the option that has dulce de leche, granola, banana and honey.

Café Martínez specializes in making breakfasts and snacks, for example toasts and cakes with good coffee. But always, as in all places, there are rare products that appear on the restaurant's menu, such as the waffle, something that is not so relevant in Argentine gastronomy. In this case I will give my opinion about the one that has the toppings mentioned above.
First impresions
At first glance you can see that everything is well distributed: a thin layer of dulce de leche on top of the waffle (something medium small), then a part of granola and another of banana, and finally, a little honey to decorate. It seems to be a reasonable portion for what one pays: $490 (£3,26). This food is served cold, which is unusual for someone who eats pancakes for snack or dessert.
Examination
Café Martínez is a coffee shop with several branches, most of them located in the Federal Capital and Greater Buenos Aires. I've been there a few times and it's usually affordable, so I came back to try this meal for a Friday fall picnic.
Within the sweet products that the cafeteria offers, the waffle seemed to me the best option to eat something light and that does not contain so much sugar. I also didn't want to eat a piece of cake because it would fill me up and I wouldn't enjoy it, nor did I want to eat something simple like an alfajor or a croissant that you can get elsewhere.
Pros and cons
Pros: the portion is fair and it is well distributed in ingredients. The smooth layer of dulce de leche makes granola and banana stick together. In turn, the price is reasonable in relation to what the company offers as a product.
Cons: honey does not combine with dulce de leche. This makes it very gooey and you don't enjoy the waffle as much, so you should choose another topping. Like honey, the raisins added to granola leave a bittersweet taste, something that doesn't go so well for a snack.
Final score
Despite the antithesis that exists in this food, it is a good option for breakfast or snack due to the flavors it can generate. However, they should change some toppings that are unnecessary and for those that lower the quality of the product. Note: 6.5/10
