In the history of Argentina, gastronomy has had different paths. Some foods remain and continue to be part of the culinary culture of our country, but others have gradually entered, or have a history but have become massive in recent times. Today, on Il Chef News, I will do a gastronomic review of an Arab food that has had a boom in the last 5 years.

Shawarma, a strange food for the Argentine palate, is an Arab food that can be found in various places. One of them is in the Shami Shawarma chain, who are specialists in this product but also have other varieties such as falafel and lahmuyin. However, in this review I will look at the beef shawarma made by the company above.
First impressions
At first glance, the food looks good. Wrapped like a Mexican burrito where you can see all the ingredients. The combination of lettuce, tomato and meat with yogurt, wrapped in a dough, attracts attention for those who eat it for the first time. $ 750 only. But if you want to accompany it with fries and a soda, the price goes up to $ 1100, something reasonable for the prices that all food chains run.
Examination
Along the Corrientes Avenue, in the city center of Buenos Aires, the Shami Shawarma club stands out among all the clubs on the famous avenue. Strolling with a fellow journalist, we decided to go in and have lunch there, as we think it's nice to try things you aren't used to.
Entering we find the famous vertical stick that contains the meat that is cooking. There, fixed. In turn, a refrigerator full of typical Arab products. The ideal environment to have lunch something different with that characteristic music of the place.
Pros and cons
Pros: The shawarma is well seasoned. Yogurt, an ingredient that is added to almost every meal, still sounds strange but is very tasty and leaves the meat soft. Added to tomato and lettuce, a good portion of french fries comes in handy to accompany this food. It also has a good price.
Cons: Perhaps the quantity of ingredients is not adequate. It seems that it is little and that it is a reality. If they add a little more, the standard price will obviously increase. Nor does it have that spicy flavor that Arab foods are usually said to have, since yogurt covers up that flavor.
Final Score
Despite the ingredients, the product is still rich and tasty, soft but delicious in the finish. The sight of the product is good, being colorful it always stands out and is fantastic. The good price and pleasant treatment of the cashier also influence this score. Note: 8.5
