French gastronomy: UNESCO heritage

French cuisine has been known for decades to be the best in the world, and there are no tournaments, Michelin stars, or culinary critics to say otherwise. But why is this so? Why in 2010 UNESCO declared it as an intangible heritage of Humanity? Is it because of its deliciousness or is it because of something else? These and other questions will be answered in this article.

Since medieval times, French gastronomy has provided excellent cuisine, which is a leader in all aspects. It has made all countries follow the culinary art of the European nation, generating it to be recognized throughout the world. So much so, that in 2010, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) declared it as an intangible heritage of Humanity, being the first in the field to obtain this recognition.


One of the reasons why it is the best gastronomy in the world is because of its exquisiteness. There is no richer food than French, because of the spices, because of the fruits, because of how it is prepared, causing the diner to start eating with their eyes, something that all chefs know and that is perfectly demonstrated in France.


Other important things about why it is the best is because of the cutting techniques. All of them have influenced the entire planet. Brunoise, emincé, mirepoix, parisien, parmentier, among other cuts that have built an excellence of the Gauls, leaving first place exclusively for them.

Also, thanks to the Michelin stars, every chef tries every year to reach the highest level, but no one can match them. With 627 awards, it is the nation with the most stars on the planet, 200 more than Japan, the second on the list. This makes it clear that number 1 will always be there for them.


Why is it the superior for greatness? For having the gastronomic influence around the world, for his special touch in meals, for having more awards, for having the best creativity when it comes to making the dishes. Simply, because that's where the best chefs in the world come from and that's where everything comes from, the world's preeminent gastronomy.
